Conservation Commission Reports Progress in Curbing Illegal Activity at Lake Mohegan

Efforts to reduce illegal activities at Fairfield’s Lake Mohegan have been ongoing, with some improvements being reported by the Conservation Commission. Fairfield police have increased their patrols at the lake, resulting in the issuing of seven infractions for littering, illegal drinking, and illegal swimming. The Conservation and Police departments have teamed up to enforce regulations, especially around the Cascades, where swimming is prohibited due to the potential danger. The Conservation Department oversees the management of the lake. The commission received a brief update on the situation at the lake during a meeting, where officials reiterated the dangers of swimming in the Cascades.
