Tragic Accident Claims Life in Fairfield, CT: Investigation Underway

Fairfield, CT — A devastating incident unfolded in our town early Wednesday morning, resulting in the loss of a 28-year-old victim who was struck by a United Carting garbage truck near the intersection of Camfield and Bloomfield drives, as confirmed by the Fairfield Police.

While the identity of the victim has not been disclosed, Fairfield Police Lt. Edward Nook assured that the next of kin has been notified.

Authorities were alerted to the incident around 7:15 a.m., and tragically, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Fairfield Police Lt. Edward Nook provided a statement, saying, “The State Medical Examiners personnel took the victim from the scene. [Occupational Safety and Health Administration officials] also arrived on scene to investigate. The operator of the garbage truck has not been charged at this time and was transported to Bridgeport Hospital.”
